The Mentor that Made Me
Jeff met Louis Harris in 1975 during Jeff’s first year of high school. Louis was the Music Director at Sam Houston High School. Mr. Harris recognized that Jeff might have some music talent and over the next three years, Louis taught Jeff how to sing, perform and love music. He brought Jeff and a slew of other students to Lake City, CO, in the summers to perform a live show called “Popcorn Palace”. For two summers, Jeff participated in the live show, which was a three-hour performance every night, with dancing and live music to include accompaniment of piano, drums and guitars. This is where Jeff learned to perform.

Louis Harris has inspired and nurtured hundreds of people over the past 60+ years. To this day he still teaches the love of music at Christ Chappel Church in Ft. Worth TX. He is 80 years young now, but feels 40… still going strong, alongside his wife, Sally.
